Making memories for more families, not being Simon Cowell, tying the knot and pivoting like Ross from Friends!
Welcome to my Farnham & Surrey Photography by Zoe Round-Up For 2021
Kicking off the new year home-schooling wasn’t the way we wanted to start 2021, but we got through it fine but without the sunshine this time. The girls returning to school in March on my birthday was kinda a nice present!
Having to keep the studio mostly closed to all my clients from November ’20 until mid-April ’21 was frustrating but a necessity of course. It did give me time to re-arrange it about 10 times (like my sister and I used to plan and rearrange our bedroom when we were young haha) and get it looking sparkly and fresh for when I opened it once again.
Then it was crazy busy fitting in all the babies who had been born over the lockdown once again so parents didn’t miss out on images of them while they were still small. The older babies who came…….those smiles!
Pivot!
So many clients were having celebrations this year due to the pandemic putting things on hold. So opening up my diary at the weekends more, and learning to pivot the business was on the cards. I was asked to photograph Christenings, wedding PARTIES (not weddings-see our Wedding Tog below for that) and birthdays. I was made to feel so welcome and part of the celebrations whilst making lovely memories for my clients. This is something I will definitely be doing more of in the future.
Maternity Shoots
I am glad, at last, to offer these for Mums-to-be. My maternity shoots are relaxed and tasteful. No gimmicks, no costumes, just my client and a lovely, peaceful hour with me and my camera. Thank you to Kirsty & Sophia for modelling for me.
I’m No Simon Cowell But…..
Earlier in the year, I was honoured to be asked by The Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity to help judge a competition they were running for images to feature in their new calendar for 2022. As we were still social distance restrictions, Sandy & I from the charity went through all the images via zoom. It took a couple of hours to decide on the final 12. The categories were: seasons, celebrations, wildlife, the natural world, & black and white. There was an overall winner was Nick Mardall with his “Autumn Rainbow” which we thought was very apt. His image features on the front also. You can view it & buy it here: https://www.royalsurreycharity.org.uk/pages/shop/department/charity-calendar-2022
We Tied The Knot July 2021
In amongst this all we were planning our wedding for July ’21 after deciding to tie the knot late last year. Thankfully the weather gods were shining down upon us and we were treated to 26 degrees, blue skies and sunshine. Of course, I wanted a fantastic photographer and Sheryl from Ooberloos Photography was absolutely brilliant giving us fab images for our walls. Check her work out here: https://oobaloos.co.uk/

And more cuteness!
The babies kept on coming to the studio throughout 2021 and the diary is getting booked up now for January & February 2022 with well-prepared Mummies and Daddies not wanting to miss out on those photographs in the early days.

Working With Local Businesses
Helping local Farnham businesses with images for their websites and for social media kept me busy this year. The Lion & Bear shop in the Lion & Lamb Yard is an independent run children’s and baby shop & Ruby Jones on West Street is a home store. I look forward to working with them more in 2022.
Let’s Talk Christmas…..
Earlier in 2021, I asked Father Christmas if he would come to the studio for my Christmas Mini Sessions. He agreed (yay) and together we created the Father Christmas Experience. With a chat with Father Christmas for each family, photo session, a gift from the big man, hot chocolate bar and snow it has been a blast and we had so much fun!
Missed out?
The Father Christmas Experience had limited spaces only and I’m so sorry if you missed out this time. If you want to be on the list for 2022 to be notified when they go on sale please sign up to my mailing list here: http://eepurl.com/huX6br
Father Christmas then came to the Lion & Bear Shopping shop in Farnham and we had a weekend of more fun!
