As a Surrey & Hampshire family photographer, one of my favourite things is capturing families outdoors – and Surrey’s beautiful woodlands are the perfect setting. Recently, I had fun photographing a gorgeous family of four: Mum, Dad, their sweet little one, and a very excited big brother.
Big brother wasted no time turning our family photo session in the woods into his own adventure! One moment he was collecting the best sticks, the next he was showing me his secret hiding spots between the trees. Of course, he also made sure baby didn’t miss out – lots of cuddles!
Fun, Natural & Relaxed
Mum and dad were so relaxed, enjoying baby cuddles, running around with their eldest, and even a few well-timed tickle fights. This is exactly how I love my outdoor family photos in Surrey to feel – fun, natural, and full of laughter. No stiff poses, just real moments that capture the heart of family life.
The Surrey woods gave us the most pretty backdrop: soft light streaming through the trees and plenty of space for little ones to run wild. It felt more like a family day out than a photo session – which is always my goal.
These kinds of woodland family sessions are some of my favourites because they allow families to relax, play, and connect while I capture the story as it unfolds. Every laugh, every cuddle, every proud big brother moment – frozen in time to be treasured for years to come.
